Game Night

Tonight on Booze Bites & Boards, we’re hitting the track with the high-speed racing game Formula D! 🏎️💨  Four racers sit down to test their luck, strategy, and nerve as they shift gears, push their cars to the limit, and try not to spin out in the corners. With risky dice rolls, tight turns, and plenty of trash talk, anything can happen on race day.  Will someone dominate the track… or will the crashes pile up before the finish line?  Grab a drink, a snack, and pull up a chair—game night starts now!

What We Ate

Crash Burgers

We took a trip to the streets of Miami for this race and we found ourselves in Little Havana and fell in love with the Frita Cubana. We made a spin on it and called it the Crash Burger (Get it??) Yea, Yea we're funny but we love smash burgers so we made this version a smash burger. This burger is traditionally topped with crispy potato sticks and shaved onions, although we went double crispy and used fried onions as-well! Give this a try and we believe you'll love it too!

Recipe

  • 250g - Ground Beef
  • 250g - Ground Pork
  • 1 tbsp finely minced garlic
  • 1c finely minced yellow onion
  • 3 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tsp sweet Spanish paprika
  • Salt and Pepper to taste 


Special Sauce

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2c Mayo
  • 1/4c water
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 ½ tsp paprika 
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • Salt and Pepper to Taste
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano


  1. Combine all ingredients in a a mixing bowl and mix until all incorporated. 
  2. Portion out into 3oz patties. 
  3. Preheat your griddle to high heat.
  4. Toast you favorite type of bun, don't overthink it.
  5. Put the 'special sauce' on the top and bottom of the buns.
  6. Smash your patties down and cook 90% of the way on one side, once you a ready to flip go ahead a gently lift the patty up and flip, top with some American cheese and allow to melt. Stack to patties on top of each other.
  7. Place the double patties on the bottom bun and top with crispy potato sticks and fried onions. Place the top bun on and eat whilst it's hot!


What We Drank

Mojito

This refreshing cocktail hits everything right on a nice spring day, it even helped me clear some of my sinus issues 😂

Recipe 

  • 5 min leaves, 
  • 2 ounces rum, we used Bacardi 
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 1/2oz Simple Syrup
  • Club soda

Procedure 

  • Muddle the mint leaves with the simple syrup in a glass
  • Add the rum, lime juice and ice
  • Stir to chill and dilute the ice
  • Top with club soda
  • Garnish with fresh mint leaves 

Cuba Libre

Some of us don't like mojitos. Some of us like a good Rum and Coke. Here's a Rum and Coke and Lime drink 


Recipe

  • 2 ounces rum
  • 1 lime wedge
  • Coca-Cola

Procedure

  • Fill a highball glass with ice and add the rum.
  • Squeeze in the juice from 1/4 of a lime and drop in the spent peel.
  • Top with the Coca-Cola, then give a brief and gentle stir.
  • Garnish with a lime wheel.
